I'm Still Thankful

It should come at no surprise that I'm behind in the blogging world.

Thankful #1: I'm thankful that I'm not behind in the school world.

I'd be thankful that I wasn't behind in the clean-house world, but that simply isn't true.  Instead,

Thankful #2: I'm thankful that I don't have a breakdown when the house isn't clean for a few days.

Back to business.  Thanksgiving happened.  Almost 2 weeks ago.  Here's how it went down for us.

My mom is an amazing cook.  Because we went to Blue's parents' for Thanksgiving last year, I was really looking forward to a traditional Brown family Thanksgiving.  It was a small group, just my parents, my grandma, and Blue and me.  Little Brother ditched us to go to California.  Weirdo.

This is the spread.  The beautiful, beautiful spread.

Thankful #4: I'm glad my mom can cook and passed her skills to me.

And for a close-up, here's the green bean casserole.  Crunchy French fried onions and all.

Thankful #5: I'm thankful for French fried onions.  Unhealthiness and all.

And here's the group, minus Blue who was taking the picture.

Thankful #6: I'm thankful for my lovely, weird-in-our-own-special-way, family.

My mom even got out her fancy china for the occasion.

Now while fancy china is all and good, I'll take this opportunity to say this.

Thankful #7: I'm thankful that china is out of fashion so that I didn't have to register for it for our wedding.  It's pretty, but somewhat impractical if you only use it twice a year.

Here we are partaking of the goodness.

Thankful #8: I'm thankful that I didn't explode after eating all that good food.

After eating we decided to educate grandma in the fine art of Mariokart Wii.  Blue was baffled that a woman who knows how to drive (and still does, except on the freeway, but that's a story for another time) could not figure out how to go the right direction.

Thankful #9: I'm glad my grandma is a good sport and didn't mind me laughing at her distress.

What a wonderful time of year, those days where I don't have to go to school.
