A Scent Experiment

Last Sunday, I decided to organize the hallway closet so I could actually get to my blow dryer and straightener without causing a small avalanche every time.  While I was doing this, I came across several body sprays I used to use when I was single.  In an effort to clear up some space, I decided to get rid of a few of them.

I asked Blue to spray each one and tell me which ones he liked and which ones he didn't like.  After all, as I told him, I wear them for him more than anything.  

He thought they all smelled like alcohol, and was somewhat unwilling to test them further.

But after church, his first suggestion to me was, "Let's do a double blind experiment with your sprays!  Spray each one on a piece of paper and then I'll rank them.  It will be double blind because you won't watch me as I rank them!"

I sprayed each one on a numbered Post-it note, then arranged the papers on the piano.

I went into the bedroom while Blue examined each scent and ranked them in his order of preference.

Here are the results.  Favorite is at the left, least favorite at the right:

1. Warm Vanilla Sugar

2. Pure Seduction

3. White Cherry Blossom

4. Forbidden Fantasy

5. Japanese Cherry Blossom

6. Ultimately U

7. Moonlight Path

I'm not too surprised that Blue liked the sweet and fruity scents more than the musky ones.

Yes, as for me and my house, we will do double blind experiments to rank body sprays.
