The end of this school year is upon us. Besides being the end of my dreaded spectroscopy class, this isn't a very big deal for me. I'm mostly excited that I won't have any classes and thus theoretically should have time to get some research done. And fewer people on campus. But no International Cinema. :(
The person who's really excited is Blue. He's graduating with his bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. This could very well be the end of his formal schooling. Forever.
School has always been such a big part of my life I may well have an identity crisis when I (finally) reach that point. But I have a project and a thesis before that will happen!
So Blue is almost off into the big grown-up world where he gets a job and is gone 8-5. I'm still going to make him do the dishes.
But before he ditches Neverland, he's going to Peru to do a project with his engineering team. I'll be in the lab doing research. I think of it as payback for last summer when I went to Japan for two weeks without him.
The job hunt is on. He has an interview in May with a local company. Here's to hoping he finds a job he loves.
