Cusco is not just the name of a Disney character.

And I'm aware that the Disney people don't spell it like that.

There have been some big events in our small lives in the past week.

My favorite person graduated wearing his favorite color.  Convenient, no?  Seriously, approximately one half of his wardrobe is blue.  Although he technically doesn't graduate until August (for reasons I will discuss later), Blue walked the walk and graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering.  His parents came down to celebrate with us.  It was a fun weekend full of eating out, an activity we don't do all that often.  Observe the really good pizza we ate:

I'm really proud of Blue for all of his great accomplishments in college.  He was a great student and when the honors are announced for August graduates I'm sure he'll get some of the highest.  I'm jealous that I'm not as smart as him.  I think I'll peg my intelligence it as a different kind of smart.

So why didn't Blue graduate in April?  Well, all year he's been working on an engineering project to make a water heater that is heated by the native stoves they have in Peru.  These water heaters will provide warm water to a village that previously had none.  So he had to register for a class in Spring term to go on a study abroad to install the water heater.

Guess where he is right now?

It's really hard to be so far away from him for so long (2 weeks!).  I didn't think I'd have a hard time with it, but the truth is that I've been emotional.  I miss him a lot, but I know he's doing a really great thing for people who need it.

But I'll be really happy when he comes home.
